Leading Eye Doctors in Honolulu
Born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, Dr. Kyle Oroku has cultivated a passion for optometry.
He earned his bachelor's in Biology from Pacific University in Oregon. He pursued his Optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry.
Following his academic journey, Dr. Oroku completed his Primary Care Optometry residency at the Lexington VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. A proud member of both the Hawaii Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, he is dedicated to advancing eye care practices.
Dr. Oroku focuses on challenging contact lens fittings, particularly scleral lenses for keratoconus, and is actively introducing ortho-k lenses to reshape the cornea during sleep for enhanced vision throughout the day.
Beyond his professional pursuits, he cherishes quality time with his family. He embraces outdoor activities such as beach days, hiking, fishing, and photography. Dr. Oroku's love for travel allows him to explore new places and immerse himself in diverse cultures.
Dr. Chin was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended Seattle University where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. She then continued on to Pacific University College of Optometry where she was the Class President and a Student Ambassador. She was given the Brian Lee Hill Memorial and Pacific University Alumni Association’s Outstanding Graduate Awards upon graduation.
During schooling, she completed rotations in different specialities including ocular disease and contact lens. After graduation, she moved back home to Hawaii and worked in a commercial practice setting as well as at a community health center. Dr. Chin feels honored and grateful to be able to give back to the community who has helped shape her into the person she is and hopes to establish long lasting relationships with her patients and their families.
Outside the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, trying new coffee shops, and exploring our beautiful state. She is a member of the Hawaii Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
A proud graduate of Kamehameha School, Dr. Au is the first Native Hawaiian Optometrist in the State of Hawaii. She began her academic journey at Pacific University in Oregon and later earned early admission to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Au's professional journey led her to Philadelphia, where she served as the managing doctor for the Philadelphia Vision Center for three years. Returning to Hawaii, she established the state's sole non-profit eye care clinic, The Kalihi-Palama Optometry Clinic, where she passionately served as Director for 13 years.
As an adjunct Associate Professor with the Pacific University College of Optometry, the University of Missouri School of Optometry, and the College of Optometry at Waterloo, Dr. Au contributes to the education of future optometrists.
Her impressive career also includes a significant tenure with LensCrafters, where she earned the prestigious LensCrafters Nationwide Office of the Year award for 2000. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Au has served as the Managing Optometrist for all LensCrafters locations in the state, including Ala Moana, Pearlridge, Kahala, Windward, and Maui.
In 2014, Dr. Au transitioned from corporate practice to establish a private group practice at 1580 Makaloa (Kapiolani Business Plaza) #950, across from Don Quixote. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she resides in Makiki Heights with her husband, attorney Marvin Dang, and their two children, Tiffany and Chad.
